Secrets of Ortigia

First time in Siracusa? The old town is a must-see with its iconic monuments and countless secret places. Since you can choose, why to go for an ordinary classic tour?

On July 2022 Dolce & Gabbana did a magnificent fashion show right in Ortigia, to celebrate 10 years of activity. They declared: “We chose Ortigia because it’s unique in the world and this show is a tribute to the island, to the Baroque, the culture and the tradition.”

Beauty is the keyword. Colors, sounds, atmosphere the main elements of an unrivalled scenography.

Ortigia is long about 2 km and large less than one, and here is its magic. If you take a look on the map, you think it’s very small but walking through the alleys makes you feel as it was endless. And somehow it is.

It’s a patchwork of cultures and styles ranging from the VIII century B.C. to the 1940’s and later, mixed in such a perfect way you can’t notice the difference.
The most beautiful and meaningful spots are hidden in the middle of the island, where only the locals dare to go, since the foreigners are afraid to get lost.
